Volumes have been written about pet care and training techniques for a variety of animals. We have tried to include some of the most effective and helpful tips here. Some come from personal experience and others from professionals in various animal-related fields.
For 15 years, we have lived in an apartment in a major capital city. Even so, our two boys had the experience of caring for several pets, including a couple of dogs, hamsters, a rabbit, a chick, a frog, tropical fish and a goldfish.
Which pet do you own?
According to several internet sources, the most common pets are cats, dogs and tropical fish. A growing number of people, however, are choosing small animals such as hamsters, gerbils, guinea pig, mice, rats, ferrets and rabbits to raise.
Other popular options are birds like the canary, parakeet, parrot, cockateil, cockatoo, and lovebird or amphibians and reptiles like frogs, turtles, lizards and snakes.
Not all pets are small, though. Quite a number of people enjoy caring for and training horses. Favorite breeds include the thoroughbred, American Quarter horse, Appaloosa, Arabian, Morgan, and others.
